Derby is home to some of the top global companies in the UK. Rolls-Royce aerospace, marine and nuclear are all Headquartered here as are the UK bases for Bombardier and Toyota.
The city also houses the largest concentration of rail related technology companies in Europe as well as a vibrant software and creative sector.
The ONS has identified Derby as the only city outside of the south-east with GVA productivity above the national average.
Derby is England’s fastest growing city for wealth creation in growth by GVA. As well as having the highest average city salary outside London for a city, Derby also has the highest visible exports per capita.
