Planning permission has already been given for new office space in the centre of Derby. Over the next few years, 1 million sq. ft. of new offices will be built in Derby, a priority for the city.
Derby has the lowest office rent in the East Midlands and as much as 80% less than London. And with no parking levy or congestion charge to be introduced in Derby, this makes the city a very attractive and affordable area of the UK.
Offices in the development pipeline include Number One Cathedral Green, Central Square, Friar Gate Square, One Derby, Sadler Square and City Gate House, these are seen as priority areas for Derby City Council who have injected £10 million into some of the projects to encourage development through the downturn.
