New Office Developments

Planning permission has been given for several schemes, which will see over 1 million sq. ft. of offices being built central in Derby over the next few years – a priority area for the city.

Construction has started on Friar Gate Square,  which is the first speculative city centre scheme in the Midlands since the economic downturn.

Other schemes given planning permission and in the pipeline include: Number One Cathedral Green, Central Square, One Derby, Sadler Square and City Gate House.

Funding & Rent Costs

Some have already benefitted from Derby City Council’s £10 million Regeneration Fund – aimed at supporting office developments. Find out more about the Regeneration Fund Here>

Derby has some of the most competitive office rent in the East Midlands, and as much as 80% less than London.

And with no parking levy or congestion charges to be introduced in Derby, this makes the city a very attractive and affordable area in the centre of the country.
